On August 2, as the sun rose, the Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) study tour group arrived at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport. More than 20 GTIIT students started their summer exchange program at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (Technion), which lasts several weeks.

As the Chinese campus of the Technion, GTIIT students hold Technion student status and share the university’s exchange network. They have access to high?quality overseas academic opportunities and can voluntarily apply for a wide range of international exchange programs. Open to GTIIT students, this summer exchange program sends selected students to the Technion from August to September for study, where they can fully experience the strong research?oriented academic atmosphere of this world?class science and engineering university.
Yigal Cohen, former Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT, along with staff from Technion GT Office, welcomed the group at the airport and dormitory areas. They patiently addressed students' inquiries and offered guidance on daily life and studies, ensuring smooth support throughout the program.

On the evening of August 3, a social gathering was held at the Technion student center, drawing around 40 participants, including GTIIT visitors, international exchange students, and GTIIT alumni now pursuing graduate studies at Technion. Fun icebreaker games helped everyone get to know each other. Students freely shared their study plans and overseas experiences.

The GTIIT mascot statue “GT Ant” stands in front of the Technion International / Technion – GTIIT Office. It symbolizes the strong partnership between GTIIT and Technion, and represents their academic exchange and cultural communication, as well as the shared journey of GTIIT students.

By the middle of the first teaching week, all students had adapted to their academic and daily lives abroad. They actively engaged with international students and Technion faculty and peers. Through cultural exchanges, they broadened their horizons, gained research experience, and built international friendships. This summer trip gave them an immersive experience of Technion's research culture and continued the partnership between the two universities.
